The natural environment inspires my work. The unstoppable forces of time, light, motion, magnetism and gravity effect the elements; Air, Water, Earth and Rock, to create the narrative that we understand as landscape and the environment in which it lies. I am interested in presenting a sense of materiality of place, celebrating the permanent and impermanent nature and the essence of the land and sea, particularly the peripheral edges.

I construct a surface for painting using ink, gesso and found organic material. Natural pigments and surfaces determine the palette used in each piece.
