Eilidh is a local artist living in Stornoway and has been working in pyrography since the late 1980s. She enjoys using the wood sourced and seasoned from the islands environment, primarily the Lews Castle Grounds Sawmill as well as driftwood from the many islands beaches. Each piece is unique and Eilidh likes the wood to help guide her, by using the grain, shape and texture as to how the piece progresses. She enjoys creating art pieces influenced strongly by the island and its varied landscape, folklore and the local history. She enjoys commission work, where, along with the client, is able to create unique and individual one off pieces.
